Originally built in 1810, The Princes dock formed part of the backbone of Liverpool's vast dock system.
With the decline in trade in the later part of the 20th Century, the dock fell into quite a dilapidated state.
In the first decade of the 21st century, the dock complex was completely redeveloped, including placing this bridge, designed by Liverpool John Moores University Centre for Architectural Research and Consultancy Unit (CARCU) .
