Fort Perch Rock

Built in the 1820s to protect against the threat of Napoleonic Invasion, Fort Perch Rock stands guard at the mouth of the River Mersey. It has seen quite a few uses throughout its history, from Military Fort, Nightclub, private residence, and now, it is used as a museum.

The ripples in the sand are a testament to the ebb and flow of this scene, and the way that the clouds reflect in the water in between the ripples, adds a softness which contrasts with the power of the sea.
